Fundraising Campaign

We need financial support for both our bursary fund and for a number of ongoing projects designed to improve the facilities at the school.

Why we need a bursary fund
There are hundreds of Steiner schools worldwide, all working to the same tried, tested and proven international curriculum. What sets British Steiner schools apart is that there is no state funding. This means that the school is ostensibly a fee paying school.

What a successful bursary fund gives us are two things: long-term security for our school and the ability to educate children who do not come from financially well off families and this ability is crucial to us. Without it we would be an elitist establishment, which could not be further from our ideal of education for all.

We have the capacity to educate 440 children here at Rudolf Steiner School Kings Langley. It costs us in the region of £6,000 per child per school year and this cost is expected to be met by the parents wherever possible. However, we need to be able to support children whose parents temporarily fall upon hard times and this is why we need a bursary fund. Every year the school awards bursaries to families in this position which are paid for out of our operating budget. In the future, the bursary fund will need to meet the financial cost of this.

Other ways to support the school
Although the Bursary Fund is a priority, there are other ongoing refurbishments that we are currently raising money for. Long-term, we are looking to build more classrooms, laboratories, and to improve our existing facilities.

There are a number of ways to help us from one off donations to financing individual scholarships. You can donate now on-line! Or if you would prefer, please contact us for further information or to arrange a visit: E-mail fundraising@rsskl.org or call the fundraising co-ordinator Pauline O’Brien on 01923 290526.
