Receiving ‘extra help’ is considered to be a positive learning opportunity, and a team of qualified and experienced teachers and therapists offer both individual and group support. Children of all abilities may be referred to the department at some time during their school career, for a range of support and therapies. Referral involves teachers and parents, and is supported by the School Doctor. Diagnostic tests are given and an appropriate course of remedial steps is devised, suited to the needs of the individual pupil.
